ReplyDeleteMy first idea is to rekindle the 6 x 6 in 6. Adults are always late, like high schoolers so I set out a 6" x 6" piece of paper with some material for them to use. They get 6 minutes to use the paper and material. This paper is then signed, dated and titled and put into their visual journal. It is possible for this piece to be used as reference material (if it is listed in the journal with the material and paper name or we can put them up in front of everyone and have a session on psychoanalysis of drawing/journaling????
In this way the students get to try out as many different materials as possible throughout the class time in order to get as many experiences as possible. Then, after ten minutes is over, we begin the class. I don't like starting late and it gives people a reason to get there on time.

ReplyDeletegreat idea, I like the idea of starting straight away and the notion of parameters. If you were a dancer you would arrive at the studio and start to stretch and warm up immediately!
parameters reminds me of the 30 min collage journaling process and 3 1/2 inches ! I am going to try and post ongoing photos with this, but actually I think the other blog page is more user friendly for visual people. i am going to send that to you ok la
